Overview

The primary responsibilities of the Vice President Operations include overseeing day to day manufacturing activities and providing leadership to the Production, Mfg & Quality Engineering, Materials, System Engineering, and Service staff in a multi-site setting.  This individual also provides strategic direction for the Operations organization and participates in the development of the corporate business plan. This position has P&L responsibilities and performance to budget will be a critical factor in assessing this individual’s success.

Responsibilities

  • Foster and develop an organization that promotes efficient utilization of resources and a positive, can-do culture.
  • Direct and develop director-level department leaders in support of corporate goals.
  • Spearhead the development, communication and implementation of effective growth strategies.
  • Drive operational efficiencies and execution.
  • Provide timely, accurate and complete reports on the operating condition of the company.
  • Continually investigates and introduces process improvement measures and presents the status to the boarder executive team.
  • Establish and monitor quality objectives.
  • Develop and execute integrated department budgets, plans, policies and procedures and provide input on departmental business and technical strategies, goals and objectives.
  • Provide direction and support to maintain a healthy and technically current infrastructure.
  • Participate as needed in due diligence meetings with prospective investors or buyers.
  • Establish and maintain a safety culture.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • BS degree in a technical field, preferably engineering or life sciences.
  • Minimum of fifteen years’ experience managing a multi-site, multi-department manufacturing organization in a technical environment.
  • Lean Six-Sigma experience
