The Senior Project Engineer leads product, process and/or technology development projects utilizing a cross-functional team and following Resonetic’s product development/production readiness processes. The Senior Project Engineer will lead a dedicated core team developing and implementing a variety of new processes (laser cutting, forming, assembly) for a fast-growing strategic customer under tight time controls, while maintaining compliance and continuity of existing production, and identify margin improvement or efficiency gains using structured LEAN and SixSigma principles. The Senior Project Engineer will lead a cross-functional team of company professionals to evaluate, design, build, and implement solutions to support the project goals. They work collaboratively across various functions, Resonetics’ sites and regions to develop the individual project strategies and tactical plans to deliver results on time and in budget. The Senior Project Engineer must have a technical background and successful engineering track record with expertise in project and task management skills. Project support may also come in the form of quality/requirement planning, risk management, validation activities, supporting material or supplier changes, and customer interface.

Responsibilities

 

  • Identify, coordinate and effectively lead project teams with good cross-functional communications and alignment to ensure timely completion of the project or task.
  • Generate high-level plans, communications, and schedules to assist with task prioritization and workload adjustments.
  • Identifies potential project risks and develops/implements strategies to minimize impact and control deviations from estimated costs and project deadlines.
  • Proactively communicates project schedules, project change proposals and related project activities on a regular basis with customer and seek to continuously improve customer satisfaction.
  • Generate and modify manufacturing process documentation and assuring that manufacturing processes and related documentation follow established policies and procedures per Resonetic’s established Quality Management System.
  • Utilize LEAN, Six Sigma, DMAIC and other process improvement tools and principles for day-to-day problem solving and continuous improvement.
  • Write and execute process and equipment validations (IQ/OQ/PQ/MVP/TMV), as well as associated risk management activities (PFMEA/Risk Assessment).
  • Selects process improvement techniques to solve technical problems and makes sound equipment and process recommendations.
  • Create process documentation and training where applicable (Manufacturing Process, Manufacturing, Setup, Preventive Maintenance etc.).
  • Coordinates the procurement of materials, supplies, services and controls necessary for timely and cost effective completion of project within budget.
  • Delegate and manage tasks among team members as appropriate to drive execution of project deliverables and minimize risk.
  • Document project meeting minutes, issues log, decision log, metrics, and other key communications.
  • Manage individual project challenges and recommend solutions to address them.
  • Ensure current Resonetics policies and practices are followed and accurate documentation requirements are followed.
  • Identify resources required for project activities, develop project budgets, resource allocations and timelines.
  • Collaborate with a variety of functions, regions, and business resources to achieve project objectives.
  • Completes and manages Capital Equipment Request Authorizations.
  • Interact with senior personnel on complex matters requiring coordination between organizations.

Qualifications

  • Degreed professional in a technical discipline with minimum 9 experience leading technical teams.
  • Strong project management experience leading cross functional teams in a technical environment.
  • Solid team leadership, team building and facilitation skills.
  • Strong analytical skills necessary to resolve problems and look for solutions.
  • Solid conflict resolution and arbitration skills.
  • Ability to facilitate a collaborative working environment for customers and team members.
  • Must be comfortable communicating and/or presenting in front of all levels of the organization
