Overview

The Category Manager is responsible for overseeing the strategic sourcing, procurement, and management of designated spend categories within Resonetics. This role involves developing and executing category strategies, conducting market analysis, managing supplier relationships, and driving cost savings and process efficiencies. The Category Manager works closely with cross-functional teams and sites to ensure alignment with organizational objectives and requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Category Strategy Development: Develop and implement strategies aligned with organizational goals, focusing on supplier rationalization, cost reduction, risk management, and innovation.
  • Supplier Management: Identify, evaluate and select suppliers based on quality, cost, reliability, and service. Negotiate contracts and manage supplier relationships to ensure value and performance excellence.
  • Sourcing and Procurement: Lead sourcing for assigned categories, including RFQ processes, supplier negotiations, and contract execution.
  • Market Analysis: Conduct market research and analysis to assess market trends, supplier capabilities, and pricing. Use insights for strategic decisions.
  • Cost Management: Drive cost-saving initiatives through strategic sourcing, demand management, and process optimization. Identify opportunities for cost reduction, value enhancement, and total cost of ownership within assigned categories.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with finance, operations, legal, and sites to align procurement with business needs. Provide expertise and guidance on procurement related matters.
  • Performance Measurement: Define and track KPIs for category and supplier performance. Analyse data and metrics to identify areas for continuous improvement.
  • Risk Management: Assess and mitigate risks associated with assigned categories, ensuring business continuity.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, advising on procurement practices and value creation.
  • Site visits: Travel up to 30%

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, procurement, or a related field.
  • 5 years of experience in strategic sourcing, category management, or procurement roles, with a track record of success in driving cost savings and process improvements.
  • Strong knowledge of procurement principles, practices, and methodologies. Certification (e.g., CSCP, CPSM, CIPS) is a plus.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to conduct market research, financial analysis, and supplier evaluations.
  • Effective negotiation skills and contract management expertise. Experience negotiating complex agreements and managing supplier relationships.
  • Demonstrated project management skills with the ability to lead cross-functional teams and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and tools, such as eSourcing platforms, contract management systems, and spend analytics solutions.
