Overview

Resonetics Hutchinson is looking to bring a Toolmaker Technician onto their team. This position will be a part of our Tube Draw team, travel to Switzerland will be required to ensure a smooth transition and understanding of the processes takes place. 

 

Regular schedule will be Mon - Fri 6:00 am - 2:30 pm

 

This position's main purpose is to repair and perform preventive maintenance on tools, fixtures and equipment with efficiency and precision. Primarily responsible for providing technical support to ensure products meet established specifications, achieve customer requirements, and are manufactured in a cost effective and timely manner.

Responsibilities

  • Under minimal supervision, perform various tasks requiring knowledge of fabrication techniques, tools, materials, and equipment.
  • Ability to interpret specifications from CAD models, blueprints, sketches or tool descriptions to PM, setup, build or modify tools, fixtures, and equipment.
  • Repairs, improves and PMs a variety of tools, dies, jigs, gauges, and fixtures to close tolerances.
  • Provides technical feedback and observations to improve yields, capability and reliability for tools, fixtures, and equipment.
  • Aids all groups in troubleshooting and improvement projects.
  • Troubleshoots and repairs a variety of tooling, fixtures, and equipment.
  • Operate tool room equipment at a high-level of competency, including surface grinders, manual mills, manual lathes, drill presses, and array of hand tools.
  • Maintain proper documentation of work produced.
  • Perform rework on worn or damaged parts. Work with supervisor to resolve problems that arise in various departments with machines, dies, tools, fixtures, etc.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned or needed.

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of experience in machining and fabrication with various machining and hand tools.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to adapt quickly and positively to changing priorities and processes.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with an ability to improvise.
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings using a GD&T system.
  • Ability to create job related documentation.
  • International travel required during beginning of role - will decrease over time to no travel required
