The Director EHS & Facilities at Resonetics is a key leader responsible for building, deploying, and maintaining a global EHS management system and operating model across all Resonetics sites to maintain a safe and compliant workplace.  This role includes facilitating our ESG initiatives, working alongside key cross-functional leaders in Human Resources, Supply Chain, Finance, and Operations to develop our ESG strategies, improvement targets and execution plans.  Additional responsibilities include identifying and managing implementation of cost savings and service improvement opportunities for cross-site shared facilities-related services.

Reporting to the VP, Engineering, the Director EHS & Facilities will work across our global network, engaging with key leaders to develop, execute and continuously improve our EHS operating model.  This leader must work closely with the broader Resonetics organization and key customers to understand requests for collaboration, drive alignment and effectively communicate our initiatives as appropriate.

Responsibilities

EHS Compliance:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain EHS programs and policies, ensuring compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards. 

Safety Leadership:

  • Drive a strong safety culture, promote safe work practices, and ensure employee safety through training, education, incident investigation and resolution. 

Risk Management:

  • Identify, assess, and mitigate environmental, health, and safety risks, including emergency planning and response, identifying new aspects as they are introduced and incorporating into the operating model. 

Sustainability:

  • Develop and implement sustainability initiatives to reduce the company's environmental footprint aligned with our ESG initiatives. 

Collaboration:

  • Work closely with global cross-functional teams, including Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, Supply chain and Human Resources to integrate EHS considerations into all aspects of the business and drive Continuous Improvement. Engage subject matter experts as well as external technical partners as necessary to plan,  develop and implement  EHS, ESG and facilities-related improvement strategies. 

Reporting:

  • Prepare and maintain accurate records and reports related to EHS performance and compliance, including required regulatory reporting. 

Communication & Leadership:

  • Understand, track and articulate issues / risks / action items; work with responsible owners to address the items on a timely basis; update the appropriate stakeholders as needed.
  • Coordinates the procurement of materials, supplies, services and controls necessary for timely and cost-effective completion of facilities management initiatives within budget.
  • Delegate and manage tasks among team members as appropriate to drive execution of EHS deliverables, minimize risk, and leverage the organization.
  • Ensure current Resonetics policies and practices are followed, and accurate documentation requirements are followed for regulatory compliance.
  • Interact with senior personnel on complex matters requiring coordination between organizations.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field (e.g., environmental science, safety engineering, industrial hygiene, engineering).  Degree required in a related technical discipline.
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in EHS in a manufacturing environment.  Experience developing, deploying and managing an EHS operating model, programs and policies across a complex, multi-site organization. 
  • Experience and familiarity with facility operations in a manufacturing setting. Strong understanding of relevant EHS regulations, industry standards, and best practices.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in managing a team and providing leadership and guidance
  • Experience in risk management and emergency planning.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in the medical products industry a plus.
  • MBA beneficial but not required.

Physical Demands

  • Ability and willingness to travel, including internationally.  Travel percentage up to 20%.
