The Facilities Manager is responsible for overseeing the maintenance and efficient operation of the organization’s facilities, equipment, and grounds. This role provides leadership to the facilities team, manages external vendor relationships, and ensures compliance with all regulatory requirements related to building operations and workplace safety. The Manager develops long-term maintenance strategies, ensures cost-effective operations, and promotes a safe and secure environment for employees and visitors.

Responsibilities

Leadership & Management

  • Lead, supervise, and develop the facilities maintenance and safety team, including assigning work, setting performance goals, and conducting evaluations.
  • Oversee vendor and contractor activities, ensuring work meets quality, safety, and contractual standards.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all facilities-related issues.
  • Develop and manage annual facilities and safety budgets, including forecasting capital expenditures.

 

 Facilities Management

  • Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance programs for HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
  • Ensure facilities, equipment, and grounds are properly maintained and meet operational standards.
  • Plan and manage renovations, construction projects, and space utilization initiatives.
  • Maintain records of maintenance, inspections, warranties, and service contracts.
  • Ensure sustainability initiatives (energy efficiency, waste reduction, etc.) are incorporated into facility operations.

 

Equipment Management

  • Oversee site equipment maintenance program to ensure reliable operation, compliance with safety standards, and alignment with production requirements.
  • Develop, implement, and track preventive maintenance (PM) schedules for all facility and production equipment, ensuring timely completion and minimizing unplanned downtime.
  • Manage vendor relationships and internal maintenance teams to execute break fix and PM activities while maintaining accurate maintenance records and driving continuous improvement in equipment reliability.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, Occupational Safety, Business Administration, or related field required.
  • Master’s degree preferred.
  • OSHA certification (30-hour) or Certified Safety Professional (CSP) desirable.
  • Trade certifications (HVAC, electrical, plumbing) a plus.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Building maintenance experience including the oversight of contractors, preparation of service agreements and familiarity with complex HVAC, process gas and electrical systems.

Physical Demands

  • Due to the potential hands-on nature of this position, this individual must be able to lift 70 lbs.
  • Due to the nature of the business being open 24/7, have the ability to work long and off hours to support the Company’s requirements.
  • This position is a full-time, onsite position.

Compensation

The compensation for this role is competitive and will be based on experience and qualifications. The anticipated range is $96,000 - $125,000/year.
