We are seeking dynamic and driven Furnace Melter is responsible for operating and maintaining high-temperature furnaces used in melting, heat treating, and processing Nitinol and other metal alloys. This role plays a critical part in ensuring material integrity and quality standards are met for production. The Furnace Melter will follow strict process controls, safety guidelines, and documentation procedures to maintain consistent manufacturing outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and monitor induction and vacuum furnaces for melting and heat-treating Nitinol and other metal alloys.  
  • Load and unload materials into furnaces following established safety and process procedures.  
  • Set, monitor, and record furnace temperature cycles, vacuum levels, and timing parameters according to work instructions and specifications.  
  • Perform in-process inspections and measurements to ensure materials meet metallurgical and mechanical requirements.  
  • Maintain accurate records of batch processing data, furnace logs, and quality documentation in compliance with Resonetics’ quality standards.  
  • Perform preventative maintenance and basic troubleshooting of furnace equipment.  
  • Handle, transport, and store raw materials, crucibles, and finished metal products safely.  
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, and Production teams to resolve process issues and improve operational efficiency.  
  • Follow all safety, environmental, and cleanroom procedures related to metal melting and handling

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED).  
  • 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing, foundry, or furnace operation environment.  
  • Basic mechanical and technical aptitude with the ability to read and interpret technical documents, work orders, and blueprints.  
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety standards.  
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a high-temperature environment while wearing appropriate PPE.  
  • Willingness to work in a cleanroom or controlled manufacturing area.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with Nitinol or shape memory alloys.  
  • Prior experience in vacuum furnace or induction melting operations.  
  • Knowledge of metallurgical processes, heat treatment cycles, and metal forming principles.  
  • Experience in a regulated manufacturing environment (medical device, aerospace, or defense).  

Physical Demands

Ability to lift 50 pounds.  

Compensation

The compensation for this role is competitive and will be based on experience and qualifications. The anticipated range is $26 –30/hr.
