Position Summary: 

 

Operate Manufacturing and testing equipment for all SSM products. Provide manufacturing labor, testing, evaluation and documentation for production and ancillary support for the manufacturing of SSM products.

Responsibilities

  • Perform charge make-up, melting (VIM), stripping, weighing, cutting and welding to produce electrodes for re-melting (VAR).
  • (VAR) (ESR) melting, ability to set-up and melt electrodes.
  • Rolling, generate roll downs for test sampling, internal and external. Ability to set-up rolling to the proper rolling procedures.
  • Read, understand and follow procedures.
  • Maintain production records and enter data in electronic files.
  • Perform routine equipment maintenance, including minor repair and modifications.
  • Perform redraw, wire drawing, cleaning, annealing.
  • Maintain production records and product identity.
  • Prepare, inspect and pack product for shipment.
  • Receive, identify, sort, document, store, and distribute bar, coil, slab, sheet and wire samples for chemistry, metallographic and mechanical tests.
  • Safely handle hazardous materials and wastes to carry out production processes. 2 person minimum required at SAES Smart Materials facility to perform any Manufacturing or Maintenance process.Work safely and follow all safety procedures. 

Required Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications

Manufacturing or equivalent experience a plus.

Physical Demands

Initial hazardous waste training is required prior to working with hazardous waste. Annual hazardous waste training is required for everyone working with hazardous waste. SAES Smart Materials will provide all hazardous waste training.

Compensation

The compensation for this role is competitive and will be based on experience and qualifications. The anticipated rate is $19.00/hr.
