Overview

Resonetics Hutchinson is looking for a Machinist Apprentice to join their team. Full-time hours available through the summer with flexible hours throughout the school year to work with class schedule.

The Machinist Co-op supports the manufacture of components and devices for the medical device industry while attending schooling in a related accredited program.

Responsibilities

  • Translate requirements of detailed part drawings and job instructions into machining methods to accurately create finished parts.
  • Set up and operate CNC machining equipment (while being Supervised by full-time Resonetics machinist).
  • Set up and operate manual machining equipment, this includes lathes, mills, grinders, etc.
  • Perform necessary side operations during machine cycle time as required.
  • Provide assistance to others and may be required to move to other machines if needed.
  • Employee must conduct themselves in a professional and appropriate manner and is responsible for maintaining a high standard of conduct and job performance.
  • Ensure written manufacturing and other procedures are being followed. 
  • Ensure proper compliance with company policies and quality regulations.
  • Focus on safety and follow all safety rules and requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Students must be enrolled in the Machine Tool Technology program.
  • Student must be in good standing with the school and maintaining a C average or better.
  • Strong mechanical and technical abilities.
  • Able to read technical data such as blueprints and routings.
  • Machinist Math, GD&T, Inspection methods.
  • Be able to conduct themselves in a professional and appropriate manner and is responsible for maintaining a high standard of conduct and job performance.
  • Shift is flexible & can be changed to accommodate current courses/schedule.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Understanding of G and M code.
  • Proven understanding of tooling requirements to setup and operate machines in the departments, including pre-setting of tools.

Physical Demands

  • May stand for long periods of time.
  • Ability to use a microscope, including manipulating small object under a microscope.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds.

Compensation

The compensation for this role is competitive and will be based on experience and qualifications. The anticipated range is $20.00-22.00/hr
