Primarily responsible for developing technical solutions and executing Lightspeed LabTM projects for medical device customers using Resonetics advanced technology. Collaborate within a small local team and with Lightspeed LabTM members from other sites to complete prototype product builds and develop new processes. Focus will be on mechanical, chemical and/or material science related processes for component build and complex assembly utilizing photo lithography, additive processing, metal forming, specialized tooling, laser welding, adhesive attach, automated inspection, and metrology.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in defining, planning, and executing prototype projects per quoted conditions with innovation and urgency, ensuring product quality meets or exceeds technology specific workmanship standards.
  • Apply fundamental engineering and scientific principles to product and process development challenges.
  • Able to setup and modify existing workstation program software to produce acceptable product using Resonetics Technology.
  • Understanding of basic parameters and variables that effect outputs.
  • Read and interpret print specifications on development projects, ensure all required visual and geometric measurements are taken and documented per Quality Systems requirements.
  • Take ownership and responsibility of assigned tasks, due dates and quality of deliverables.
  • Document process parameters and project details for each project accurately per Resonetics Quality Systems requirements.
  • Able to measure product using site metrology equipment either manually or using an established computer controlled measurement program.
  • Collaborate with an Engineer to complete a Quote.
  • Take ownership of data for responsibilities as assigned, ensuring data is accurately presented in Resonetics digital systems.
  • Participate in Advanced Technology Group activities and deliverables as requested.
  • Strong productivity and independence, ability to work under minimal supervision.
  • Seeks continuous self-improvement, open and willing to accept constructive criticism.
  • Works effectively on a given task, driving to completion.
  • Participate in customer calls as requested.
  • Proactively communicate with the customer on issues with a recovery plan, status, and results of an order with support from your manager.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree in an engineering/science or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to generate drawings and models (2D & 3D CAD) using GD&T.
  • Ability to present and convey complex engineering ideas to internal and external customers.
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings using a GD&T system.
  • Ability to create job related documentation for quality purposes.
  • Proficient with the use of optical inspection equipment. This may be defined as a magnifier, microscope, and/or equipment used for measuring capacity.
  • Proficient with using multiple axis motion controllers.
  • Ability to quickly and positively adapt to changing priorities and processes.
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree in an engineering / science, ME, Chem-E or Material Science degree preferred.
  • Solid understanding of engineering fundamentals and the ability to apply that knowledge to the challenge at hand.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and optimize complex processes in an efficient and reliable manner.
  • Fluent in Microsoft Office: MS Teams, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint... etc..
  • Some experience with the following: TMV / GRR, Process Capability, Attribute vs. Variable Data in Validation, OQs/PQs, Engineering Study / DOE.
  • Experience using computer-controlled measurement systems.
  • Exercise Engineering leadership on internal and external meetings, drive conversations towards desired goals and outcomes in a respectful & professional manner.
  • Ability to present and convey complex engineering ideas to internal and external customers.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills, sensitive to the use of other people's time.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.

 

Physical Demands

  • Standing and walking for short periods of time.
  • Ability to use a microscope, including manipulating small object under a microscope.

Compensation

The compensation for this role is competitive and will be based on experience and qualifications. The anticipated range is $54,000-$84,000.
